M.D. of Spirit River No. 133

Due to on going dry conditions and gusty winds, areas of exposed cured fuels pose a significant wildfire risk. The fire hazard is very high as a result. Fire Restrictions are now in effect for M.D.133 Spirit River. The Fire restrictions will remain in place until conditions improve . If you have any questions about this please call 780 864 0782.

New Firetruck arrives..

Fire Chief Bill Mortland accept the keys to the MD of Spirit River 2013 Fire Pumper Truck from Joe Sward of Hub Fire while George Dika member of the Municipal District of Spirit River Fire department looks on. The truck was purchased from and manufactured by HUB Fire of Abbotsford British Columbia. The truck made the journey to Spirit River arriving September 5, 2013. This unit will be replacing the current 23 year old 1990 fire pumper unit 1 and will be housed in the MD Fire Hall.


Regional Fire/Disaster Service

The MD of Spirit River # 133 is a member of the Central Peace Region – Emergency Management Agency along with Birch Hills County, Saddle Hills County, Town of Spirit River & Village of Rycroft. This Agency is responsible for planning, preparedness, response & management of major emergencies and disasters within the Central Peace Region. This approach takes advantage of the combined strength, resources & expertise of the five municipalities.
