FIRE BAN NOTICE: M.D. of Spirit River No. 133
Due to very dry conditions, very warm weather and gusty winds ,the Fire Hazard is now Extreme. As a result ,open burning is not allowed in M.D.133 At this time.
No campfires or other open fires are allowed in residential fire pits or random camping areas.
The Fire Ban will remain in place until conditions improve.

New Firetruck arrives..
Fire Chief Bill Mortland accept the keys to the MD of Spirit River 2013 Fire Pumper Truck from Joe Sward of Hub Fire while George Dika member of the Municipal District of Spirit River Fire department looks on. The truck was purchased from and manufactured by HUB Fire of Abbotsford British Columbia. The truck made the journey to Spirit River arriving September 5, 2013. This unit will be replacing the current 23 year old 1990 fire pumper unit 1 and will be housed in the MD Fire Hall.

The MD of Spirit River # 133 is a member of the Central Peace Region – Emergency Management Agency along with Birch Hills County, Saddle Hills County, Town of Spirit River & Village of Rycroft. This Agency is responsible for planning, preparedness, response & management of major emergencies and disasters within the Central Peace Region. This approach takes advantage of the combined strength, resources & expertise of the five municipalities.
